MTCA is led by Directors Leo Ash Evens and Charlie Murphy, both BFA graduates of Carnegie Mellon University (with degrees in Musical Theater and Acting respectively). Leo and Charlie are passionately active in the arts and believe that training is the foundation for sustaining a successful career as a thriving artist.
MTCA was founded in 2005 by Ellen Lettrich, and Leo and Charlie carry forward our shared vision utilizing over 20 years of collective experience in college audition preparation.

Perfecting the "One-Minute" Song- For all of your pre-screens and live auditions, you need that "magic" to happen in one- minute. Andrew, as a voice teacher, vocal coach, and acting the song teacher will help you craft your song both musically and dramatically quickly. Through this unique blend of coaching, you will Learn to identify objectives, tactic changes, genuine discoveries, etc all while using your natural singing voice to enhance your acting work. Let's connect your work with YOU and "win it in 1-minute!."
Andrew Abrams- Andrew has worked Off-Broadway, Off West-End, regionally and on tour as a professional director, musical director, conductor, composer and Equity actor. The musical for which he wrote the music, But I'm a Cheerleader, the Musical opened to rave reviews in London this year. Andrew is also a vocal coach, voice teacher, and Acting through Song coach and was the head of the BFA musical theater program at SIU-Carbondale for several years. He has also taught at NYU, New York Film Academy, AMDA, Mountview Academy (in London), Hofstra University, as well as privately in New York City and London. He is the Artistic Director of Capital City Theatre, a regional Equity musical theatre company in Madison, WI and is the founder of "One Minute to Win It" a training program aimed at providing expert musical college prep training at a reasonable cost. https://www.1minute2winit.com/


Fundamentals of Acting Through a Scene
Scott Hudson is the Director of Acting and the Associate Professor of Theatre at Shenandoah University’s Acting Conservatory. He is a master teacher, specializing in the Meisner Technique and has worked as an associate at the Maggie Flanigan studio in New York City.
Scott coaches actors in film, TV and stage. He served two years as in-house coach for ABC’s daytime All My Children. His client Elizabeth Rodriguez garnered a Tony nomination for her role in The Mother F**ker With the Hat.
Prior to his arrival at FSU he served as Assistant Professor of Theatre at Ashland University and University of West Florida. He apprenticed under the tutelage of Maggie Flanigan as a Meisner instructor of acting at her studio in NYC and taught there as an associate for six years. Some of his acclaimed students include, Peter Scanivino, Joelle Carter and Liza Lapira.
He is the recipient of Broadway producer, Daryl Roth’s Creative Spirit Award. Scott is an FSU, BFA Theater alum and a MFA Acting graduate of Rutgers University.
He is a collegiate collaborator with The Farm Theater Company and a long time serving member of LAByrinth Theater Company both based in NYC.

LEO ASH EVENS is a Pittsburgh born and bred actor with a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Leo will go over expectations and opportunities of the weekend with Students and Parents.
In his 10th year with MTCA (Musical Theatre College Auditions), Leo has evolved from monologue coach to Assistant Director and is now a proud Co-Director and Co-Owner of the team with partners Ellen Lettrich (Founder), and Charlie Murphy. Leo loves guiding his students to trust their own work and their process, finding the right program and positioning themselves for success in the professional world.
